The Market Diner is the epitome of the space age diner:
zig-zag roofline, huge windows, and very cosmic
orange-glowing orbs hanging above the counter. It's a
big-time hangout for Manhattan limo drivers and its small
parking lot is crammed with the longest strech limousines I
have ever seen.
I love Greek food, and what better place to have Greek than
a diner. The Chicken Souvlaki is "to die for!!!" Best
Tzatzki (please correct my spelling) sauce I've ever
tasted. I wanted to lick the dish clean!
The Market Diner is about a 10-minute walk west of Times
Square. Head west on 42nd street to 11th ave and then 1
block north. While you're in the area, check out the
Munson Diner at 11th and 49th, the River Diner at 11th and
37th (directly across from the Javits Center) and Cheyenne
Diner at 9th and 33rd (1 block West of Penn Station). A
walking tour of all 4 would take about 45 minutes.
